mistakes and enjoy a landscape providing years of beauty and enjoyment.
Our Approach
Our process takes you from initial concept through
construction and we follow up with any services
required to maintain your property.
We begin with a consultation to explore your ideas,
how you want to spend your time outdoors, who you
want to entertain, and what vision you have for
the landscape and hardscapes materials to be included.
Our landscape architect will design your "Outdoor
Living Room" and after final approval by you,
our skilled construction crews will build it. We
will keep you informed every step of the way and
we will stay in touch periodically after the construction
is completed to answer any questions you may have.
We will also assist you in establishing a budget
for the entire project or each phase of the project.
We will help you understand if your budget
is realistic for your design. Just as when
you go to buy a home, remodel a kitchen, or purchase
a car, you need to know a rough budget within which
you are willing to work. Underwood Landscape uses
the following 3-step approach to landscape design:
Visitation and consultation
Site planning and measurement
Landscape design
Lighting design
Drainage assessment and irrigation design
Phased installation
Materials introduction and proposal
Implementation and construction
Completion of project
Warranty follow-up on materials and workmanship
Step 1: Site Analysis
First, we conduct a thorough on-site analysis
of your property, understanding and noting any grading
or drainage issues, irrigation requirements, soil
condition, existing vegetation, sun exposure, wind direction, screening requirements,
utility lines and so on. We will collect all the information we need to understand
all aspects of your property, your needs, and your
desires. Attaining your landscaping dream is our
goal!
We will also provide
you with a portfolio of prior design with before
and after pictures reflecting our work. Additionally,
we
will take photographs of
your
property to assist us in constructing our landscape
design plans, and to provide you with a clear before
and after comparison upon completion of the project.
Step 2: The
Design
We then storyboard the design of your dreams. Often
this will involve a proposal to incorporate the
basic structure of the new landscape, architectural
elements such as decks, walkways, terraces, ponds, circulation flow, screening
requirements, noise abatement, irrigation requirements and drainage solutions.
We will also discuss plant selection and hardscape materials. After presenting
the plan, we then incorporate feedback from you
and make any adjustments necessary as requested
by you.
Step 3: The Master Plan
Based on your review and modifications, we then
create the Master Plan, bringing together all of
the design elements, along with a cost estimate
for installation.
Additionally we include plant literature, which will help you visualize what
the mature landscape will look like, as well as what to expect in terms of
flowering, seasonal growth, water and fertilizer requirements, and maintenance.
As each design process varies, dependent on the
lot size, hardscape required, plant selection and
architectural features, each design is individually
priced. Contact Underwood
